Weekend overeating is a habit that many of us who come from “9 to 5” environments have.
It often looks like this: during the week, you have your schedule, your routine, you may do meal prep and life is good and stable.
But as the weekend arrives, the parties, social events, family dinners and restaurant visits make it impossible to stay to your plan… or so it seems!
Remember: we always have the power to choose.
A lot of us tend to speak about food as if someone someone is forcing us to eat it.
This belief is very disempowering and you must shift your mindset if you want to start changing your eating habits from within.
When you think as if “things just randomly happen to you”, you aren’t likely to be in “problem solving mode” and this doesn’t serve you.
So please, remember you always have the power to choose.
With that being clear: what’s the best way to increase our chances of NOT overeating on the weekends?
You PLAN for your weekends. You add some structure to your weekends.
And no, it doesn’t have to involve restriction or deprivation.
You can schedule visits to restaurants and parties, but you’re doing the whole thing very deliberately.
You get strategic. You plan which meals you want to give yourself more freedom, and which meals you want to be more careful.
And listen, I know for a lot of foodies out there (like me), our favorite weekend activity is often restaurant visits.
I want to offer to you that adding some new activities and ways to have fun can help you a LOT with this.
The best way to stop overeating on weekends is to stop it before it happens… which is why planning and preparing is KEY.
