Work takes a huge part of your life and identity
When work sucks, your whole life gets poisoned ☠️
Hello friend! 👋 I’m Sonia. I know you’re here because you feel trapped, conflicted and anxious about work
🤮You don’t know if you can handle another day of having to disregard your instincts in the name of corporate politics and making clients happy…
🔍You’ve spent many late nights Googling things like: “side hustle ideas”, “can I quit without a plan?” and the classic “WTF should I do with my life?”…
😤You secretly believe that *you* are the problem and judge yourself for taking things too personally at work all the time…
Worrying about work and the future of your career 24/7 is mentally and emotionally exhausting, and leaves no space to enjoy your life.
I know this exact feeling, because this was me 4 years ago…
✅ Knowing that you’re meant to do more than a 9 to 5, but having no clue where to start because your brain is all over the place? Check.
✅ Wondering why you can’t tell your teammates when something bothers you (like “normal” people do) and overthinking all the things that you could have / should have said? Yup.
✅ Working really hard to deliver big results, only to be left feeling under appreciated and insecure when your boss doesn’t recognize you? Yeah.
Breathe, my friend. I understand the pain. The good news is: you will not always feel this way
I’ve seen and lived what’s possible when you become curious about how you truly feel about work, and start paying close attention to what is going on between your ears…
You know, those voices inside your head that run 24/7? They hold the key to your liberation.
Finding peace, meaning and joy in your work is one part of the equation. What happens in your life once you stop worrying about your career 24/7 is where the real fun begins…
💰Saving enough money to be able to take a year off
👩💻Quitting my admin corporate job
🚗Starting a business that made what I used to make in my job working half the time
👫Deepening the relationship with my husband
⚡️Losing 20 pounds
These are some examples of what changed in my life when I started to work on my mindset like my life and career depended on it.
Ever wondered why you can’t ask for a raise though though *intellectually* you know you deserve one?
Or have you told yourself “ok, I have to start saying NO to working overtime” only to find yourself unable to utter the words when the situation arises?
It’s frustrating, I know. And it all has to do with your mindset (aka the collection of thoughts and feelings that motivate your actions in life).
As a certified life coach turned career mindset coach, I help you create thoughts and feelings on purpose, so you feel clear, confident and empowered about work.
Because all the career tips in the world don’t work if your anxious brain and body keeps doubting itself 😕…
What I do
✅I help you understand why you’re anxious, hyper-focused or confused about work, so you get clear on what *you* really want to do with your career
✅I show you how to feel better and more at peace in your job right now even if you can’t change it or don’t want to change, for whatever reason
✅I teach you how to change your thoughts and make them a habit, so you can stop procrastinating on your self-care and personal projects
✅I show you tools to help you become more compassionate and assertive towards difficult coworkers, so you can stop being afraid of them
✅I help you make the best of your immigrant roots and values and turn them your unique superpower, so you can stop to pretending to be someone else
What I don’t do
🚫I don’t help you write your resume, do career aptitude tests or update your LinkedIn (when you work on your mindset you get clearer on what to write)
🚫I don’t teach strategies to climb the corporate ladder (becoming confident and magnetic can be a byproduct of working on your thoughts though)
🚫I don’t do job hunting with you or give you recruitment advice (I teach you to manage your brain so you can make a plan and trust yourself)
🚫I don’t sell you the dream of “escaping the 9 to 5” (quitting my job and starting my business did not stop my insecurities. Mindset work is what helped)
🚫I don’t offer immigration advice and I don’t work with newcomers just starting to settle. If this is you, I invite you to consult newcomer services near you
Admitting that you constantly worry, overthink or complain about work is uncomfortable. But once you admit your pain, things can only get better…
In order to make these huge career and life changes and have the guts to help others in their process, I had to unlearn one of the biggest fears of immigrant and immigrant descendants:
And it’s no wonder. As immigrants:
1️⃣We were programmed to either “play nice 😊” or “tough up 😠”
2️⃣We were praised for being “independent” and “figuring things out on our own”👏
3️⃣We were raised to believe that asking for help was “weak” 😩
4️⃣We were told that if we feel anxious or depressed we shouldn’t tell anyone or else they will judge us or call us “crazy” 😳
It’s time we change the story, so we start thriving instead of just surviving
As first and second generation immigrants we’re adaptive, resilient and strong individuals who are capable of incredible things. But we’re not meant to walk this path alone
